Meet..

Lauren

I first discovered naturopathy in 2018 when I was at a crossroads with my health. Coming off the oral contraceptive pill left me with a cascade of hormonal imbalances and a lot of inflammation I wasn’t aware of. But trust me, I could see it on the outside in the form of chronic adult acne, painful and irregular periods, weight gain and erratic mood swings. I began questioning why I had ever stopped my body from doing what it was naturally and innately designed to do.

Why had I suppressed the natural fluctuations of my hormones and disconnected my ability to feel like a god damn woman?

I wanted real answers and quickly realised I wasn’t going to find them through a conventional approach. That’s when I turned to a naturopath who helped me dig deeper to uncover the real (in naturopathy we call this the root) causes of my struggles. It wasn’t an overnight fix. I had to make sustainable, long-lasting changes to my lifestyle, which required a whole bloody lot of patience, and honestly, I’m still evolving. However, it was this experience that sparked a passion in me for holistic health that has only grown stronger.

My journey hasn’t been without its challenges.

The severe acne left me feeling incredibly self-conscious and I avoided leaving the house for fear of judgment. Comments like, “what do you eat to make your skin so bad?” led me down a path of food restriction and hyper-fixation on my diet. Next, the constant gut problems—abdominal bloating, cramping and unpredictable bowel habits, to the point where I was in tears daily whilst I was overseas for work because I couldn’t find any relief. And the relentless cycle of burnout and prolonged stress—knowingly pushing myself beyond my limits and merely ignoring the signs—left me with sleepless nights stewing over my to do list, extreme period pain that had me lying on the shower floor month after month, and more recently, jaw pain from continually clenching my facial muscles. Finally, the stigma of mental health struggles left me feeling like I shouldn’t seek help. I won’t lie, it has felt like I was fighting an uphill battle at times.

But through it all, I’ve learned the beauty of balance and freedom. Today, I can enjoy a croissant or a glass of wine with girlfriends without the fear of symptoms returning or guilt for ruining my health. I no longer obsess over food choices or worry about “falling off the bandwagon.” My health journey has taught me that being truly healthy isn’t about perfection—it’s about living in harmony with your body and embracing a lifestyle that feels sustainable, joyful and empowering.

I better not leave out a crucial part in my journey—nearly eight years of service in the Australian Defence Force.

This has shaped my approach to discipline, structure and routine—traits that have been both a blessing and a challenge for my health.

While it has helped me create beneficial habits, the high-intensity demands of military life have also contributed to my strong beliefs surrounding balance. This unique perspective helps me understand and guide others in finding harmony within demanding lifestyles.

When I work with clients, my goal is to help you find a version of this freedom.

Imagine...

…living in tune with your cycle, where your period arrives pain-free and without disruption. Picture enjoying delicious meals without worrying about how your gut will react or always having to know where the closest toilet is. Think about heading out, radiating in confident skin, then falling asleep with ease, actually staying asleep and more importantly, waking refreshed! A space where you get to feel heard and safe to share your mental health struggles and finding out there is a way forward. That’s the kind of life I want to help you create.

Your body has an incredible ability to heal when you give it the right tools and support—let mine be your proof of that.

Now, I’m turning my passion into purpose.

I’m currently studying a Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathy) and will soon be practicing at The Practice Wellbeing Centre in Brisbane, offering both in-person and online consultations.

If you’re ready to start your own journey toward lasting health and freedom, please reach out as I’d love to support you!
